Crafting Spaces

I dream of one day having a beautiful (and well organized) craft room. But in a two bedroom condo with the hopes of a baby one day soon...this dream is going to have to wait awhile!

I am currently helping a friend with her scrapbooking room and came across these spaces for inspiration...

My favorite part of this craft room is the fun artwork.

This space is very cheerful and organized! I love all the color coordination!

I love these cabinets and those bookcases!

Isn't this room simple and classy?! There are many different options when using shelves & cabinetry with a hard surface top. You can use furniture pieces to make a desk or this would be a great DIY project.

*Organize your workroom around decorating solutions that do double duty.

This is a very artsy sewing station. I love the letters and that yellow chair!

This multifunctional craft space has so much natural light. And look at those chairs!

Love all this color! Who would not want to hangout crafting in here?!

Reupholstery Project - Wingback Chair

I brought this wingback chair home from my grandmother's house (she's moving) and thought it would look great in my living room once it's reupholstered! I just have to make a decision on a fabric! Here are a few pictures of the chair as of now...

And a side view...

I am LOVING these chairs with studs from Z Gallerie...

Clift Accent Chair in Eggshell

And the Pauline Chair, even though it's a different style than mine

And the Chelsea Wing Chair from Williams Sonoma Home shown in different fabrics...
I am thinking of an off white fabric for a sleek look!

But then a beautiful fabric print like the Vine Silhouette, Espresso makes me crave some pattern!

Some other fun fabric styles...

Sixx Design: Downtown Chic

I ordered and just received the book "Downtown Chic"! I cannot wait to start reading it! I have become a big fan of the design firm, Sixx Design. A couple with six kids (and now has grown to seven) began renovating derelict homes and turning them into amazing, high-style homes. And their new book, which you can get here, gives us a peek not only into a few previous renovations of their own homes, but the homes of their clients as well. Not to mention some fun pictures of their family!

I am in AW of this interior space...just look at that amazing art piece above the sofa!!

I love the idea of hanging a score board in a game room!

I love the pages that show the family's artistic holiday cards from the past years! How creative!

HGTV Design Star

Have you all heard who is the new HGTV Design Star? Sorry if you have not caught up on your Tivo yet but the winner was Emily Henderson! I loved her design on the finale. The final two designers had to design a room with a previous contestant being the client. Emily chose Tom, who has amazing style! With a palette of grays and deep blues, metallic accessories and luxurious fabrics, Emily created a beautiful space that represented Tom's style perfectly! I just love the pin stripes and thought about where I could do that in my own home!

Want the look? Here are a few furniture pieces and accessories to get you started:

This sofa is very sleek and modern! I like the dark legs! Draper Pearl sofa from CB2 and is $799This coffee table from Modern Design Sofas for $329, would look great in front of that sofa!

This sleek gray Pebble rug from West Elm for $279 will bring everything together!

Look at this modern black chair...its the rider lounge chair from Stacks and Stacks for $159.

Now, in the show, Emily and her team painted the stripes on the wall by taping off with painters tape. If you choose not to go that route, you can also get the look with this pinstripe wallpaper by DY Home Decor.

Here is a great piece of art for the wall that brings in the browns! Try this rustic metal wall art from Target for $159.99!

Lastly, add touches of metallic by using these candle sticks from Pottery Barn from $39-$79!

And here are a few photos from Emily Henderson's portfolio...
