Modern Doesn't Mean Cold

Happy Thursday everyone! Are you having a good week so far? My son turned two yesterday so we celebrated at the happiest place...Disneyland! He had a blast which made us very happy! Anyways, let's  talk modern furniture today!

Modern furniture is usually thought of as cold and not comfortable. But by using warm fabrics and adding a lot of texture and visual interest, you can create an warm and inviting interior space.

Christopher Guy in Beverly Hills

Not sure if the Beverly Hills Christopher Guy showroom is moving or if they are opening a new Christopher Guy furniture store but was very excited crossing the street and seeing this....

The location is at Beverly Blvd and Robertson. Cannot wait to hear more and stop in when it opens!


Here are a few of my favorite pieces from the Christopher Guy collection

Christopher Guy has a large selection of mirrors that are stunning, however this is the one I've been drooling over. The large curved scrolls in a Black Sea Silver make me dream of a large dressing room with this beauty on the wall.

I love the soft curves of  this chair and am head over heels for that soft white piping against that dark grey. But of course it comes in different fabrics.

This chair is sophisticated and so classic! I would love to use this in an office with a dark wood desk. 

This luxurious ottoman would look amazing in a chic bedroom. Love the champagne color but it can be made in different fabric. The finish is Italian Silver...beautiful!

            This screen has fifty-six mirrors that are fitted into frames that are made up out of mahogany. Just gorgeous! I am picturing this screen in a bedroom or a large open living room as a divider.

What a glamorous and chic sectional sofa! Just look at that curved detail!

I am in love! The large scrolls on the bottom of this piece are so romantic. I'm daydreaming of a large (very large) walk in closet with this piece in the middle. Doesn't that sound stunning? Or a few of these would work great in a hotel lobby.

Advanced Interior Designs...original designs & reproductions!

Today I was looking through Advanced Interior Design's website and found many great furnishings! I especially love their lighting section...just stunning pieces! The site provides high quality original designs and reproductions of modern and classic furniture. Check them out here. I decided to post a few of my favorites!

This modern Ludlow Platform Bed is very luxurious! It has a sleek button-tufted headboard and framed in a rich wenge border. Can you imagine this bed in your bedroom?

This Aristocrat two Piece Sofa Set is so classy and rich looking! They would look amazing against dark dramatic walls!

The Daybed Lounger shown here in white, can work in any room while looking very sleek in design.

The Dub Cafe Table is fun and functional. A great way to add some modern style in a small dinning area.

The Le Corbusier Pony Chaise Lounge is a classic modern reproduction of the Le Corbusier chaise lounge LC4 originally designed in 1928. Very classic!

This Cellula Style Triple Chandelier is just stunning!

Isn't this Black and Crystal "Dripping" Chandelier beautiful?! Very glam and chic! I love the black base with clear crystals!
